UNB CLASS OF '59 REUNION 2005
During UNB Homecoming 2005, July 28 through July 31, 2005
This page was last revised July 4, 2005

There is an old saying: Plan as if you are going to live forever; live as if there is no tomorrow. At our age, and in these uncertain times, this is a wise philosophy. Our class must have taken this to heart for one eighth of the people pre-registered by the end of February for UNB Homecoming 2005 were from or connected with our year. We always were an exceptional class!

There are a number of classmates who have told the Class of '59 Committee that they were coming, but who have not yet registered with UNB. That only concerns us if you erroneously think that contacting us has registered you at UNB. It hasn't. Please do contact the organizers if you plan to attend any other events other than those run by ourselves. The address is: http://www.unb.ca/alumni/homecoming/index.html.

We would also appreciate your registering with us. If you haven't done so already you can get an form from REGISTRATION FORM

There are two special events planned for the Class of '59.

King's Landing
Saturday, July 30, 2005
  • At 10 a.m. our guided tour of King's Landing Historical Settlement leaves from the Visitor Reception Centre. Please come at least 20 minutes early to check in and to be sure of catching the start of the tour. Remember that the Museum Shop and the Cafe and Bakery are pleasant places to browse and/or shop.
  • At 11:30 a.m. we can chat with friends at the cash bar at the King's Head Inn or continue exploring the Settlement sans guide before lunch.
  • At 12:30 p.m. we can enjoy a luncheon at King's Head Inn.
  • NOTE: If for any reason you must skip the walking tour, come to the Visitor Reception Centre first to check in. You will be directed to, and can drive to, a back entrance of the King's Head Inn where another costumed guide will offer you a short tour near the Inn before the cash bar and the luncheon.
Lunch at Jack Oudemans' 242 Stanley Street
Sunday, July 31, 2005
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. a light lunch will be available for those that want to drop in.
  • NOTE: Bring photos and any other memorabilia you wish to share with old friends, i.e: Hans's video will be there for the viewing.

If you want to know more about the events going on at King's Landing while we are there go to www.kingslanding.ca.

The registration fee of $50 per person includes both events and tax and gratuities. The budget allots $9 for the entrance fee and $1 more for the tour and $20 for the meal at Kings Landing on Saturday, Sunday's lunch at Jacks ($15) and a $5 contingency. As before, surplus funds, if any, will go to UNB and a full accounting will appear on this web page. Cheques can be made out to our Life Treasurer, Sheila Washburn, 181 Ross Terrace, Fredericton, NB E3A 8E5.

A letter is being sent to everyone in the Class of '59. It describes the delicious lunch menu at King's Landing. Please mark your menu choice on the registration form attached to the letter so that we can preorder your meal. Thank you for doing this. It will be good to get together one more time. May God grant us many more such reunions.

PS: We repeat, if you have lost your registration form click here for a replacement: REGISTRATION FORM. Print it off, fill it in and mail it. Don't forget the cheque! Thank you.
